Innovation and familiarity were the two themes for Wimbledon 2007

Innovation as Center Court lay uncovered for the first and last time, awaiting its sumptuous sliding roof for 2009 and as the revolutionary line call system, that allows players to question Umpires' calls, made its debut at SW19.

Familiarity as Roger Federer and Venus Williams, two of the great Champions of the current era, cemented their dominance on the grass courts, their victories arguably putting them in the pantheon of the truly great

Over the fortnight, one of the wettest on record, players, officials and fans faced down the conditions and played out one of the most dramatic Wimbledon fortnights in recent memory. A Championship crowned by a scintillating Men's Final. A five set epic repeat of the 2006 final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. For Federer it was a fifth consecutive win, equaling the feat of Bjorn Borg, one of the Swiss Champion's heroes, who was invited to The Championships by the club to witness the feat.

For Nadal is was confirmation that the Spaniard is one of the most potent and aggressive players of the modern era.

In the Ladies game Venus Williams became the lowest seeded champion of all time, taking her fourth title in seven years against surprise finalist Marion Bartoli.

And in the Mixed Doubles, Jamie Murray stepped out of his brother Andy's shadow to become the first British Player to take a Wimbledon title for 20 years in partnership with the exuberant Jelena Jankovic.

Narrated by Benedict Taylor and written by Andrew Longmore of the Sunday Times, The 2007 Wimbledon Official Film is a lasting record of the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world.
